The Financial Accountability & Corporate Transparency (FACT) Coalition is a nonpartisan alliance focused on public policy related to financial transparency and tax fairness. Based in Washington, DC, the group advocates for stronger anti-money laundering laws, greater transparency from multinational corporations, and the elimination of anonymous shell companies to address illicit financial activity and offshore tax avoidance. Its work targets policymakers, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders in the public policy arena, aiming to improve global financial transparency and ensure that wealth generated across borders is subject to appropriate oversight. Founded as a coalition of over 100 state, national, and international groups, FACT develops and promotes policy recommendations and research, including reports on the links between U.S. financial secrecy and environmental crime in the Amazon, to inform discussions on reform. The organization operates within the public policy sector and pursues reforms intended to curb secrecy-driven corruption and the leakage of tax revenues.
