Expertise was founded in 1984 in Genoa offering technical assistance services, then developing into an Engineering and Technical Services Company mainly operating in the energy sector.
Due to the market demands and the Client’s specific needs, only a year later, in 1985, the first sister company was established: Tre "O" Srl, specialized in Process Engineering, Manuals and Training.

In 1993 Expertise started its venture in Kazakhstan, in the Karachaganak Oilfield Area.

The great opportunities offered by the very new Kazakh market and the considerable request for specialized work in the area convinced Expertise to establish Expertise Sices Ltd, by joining forces with Sices S.p.A.

In 1999 Expertise Sices Limited and Aksai Gas Service (Subsidiary of the Kazakh National Oil Company) founded the Kazakh company KIOS, that presently employs around 200 people. After years of growth and consolidation, KIOS is today a recognized and successful player in Kazakhstan.

In December 2004 in order to streamline the Group’s operations, Tre "O" was converted into an Engineering Business Unit and merged into Expertise

During the years Expertise has developed into a larger Group of Companies, founding:

- Telford International Ltd with an operative Branch in Abu Dhabi / UAE
- Expertise d.o.o. in Rijeka / Croatia
- Proteco Sarl in Pointe-Noire / Congo
- Expertise Libya for Oil Operations JSC in Tripoli / Libya
- Expertise Mozambique Limitada in Pemba / Mozambique
- Expertise LLP in Atyrau / Kazakhstan

and various Branches in key areas, such as the Expertise Srl Branch in Atyrau / Kazakhstan to service the Caspian Development Project operations, the Expertise Srl Branch in Abu Dhabi, and the Expertise Srl Branch in Ashgabat / Turkmenistan.
