Exceptional Care for Children is a nonprofit pediatric skilled nursing facility and Delaware’s only provider dedicated to caring for children with complex medical needs. We are a national leader in skilled nursing, respiratory support, therapy services, palliative care, and adaptive tools that help children learn, communicate, move, and grow.

Our campus is designed to give medically fragile children a childhood filled with possibility. Residents attend school on site, enjoy accessible play spaces, and build meaningful relationships with staff who feel like family.

ECC also serves as a regional resource for safe hospital to home transitions by offering caregiver training, equipment evaluations, and the support families need as they prepare for life beyond the hospital.

With 46 pediatric beds and a 22 bed expansion opening in 2026, ECC continues to advance a full continuum of care for young people who require around the clock support.
