Excelencia in Education is a national nonprofit focused on higher education and Latino student success. It informs, leads, and accelerates outcomes by conducting data-driven analysis of Latinos’ educational status and by promoting policies and institutional practices that support achievement. The organization is widely regarded as a primary information resource on Latinos in higher education and works to connect educators and policymakers to drive institutional improvements. Based in Washington, DC, and founded in 2011, it operates within the Education Administration Programs field to address the need for a highly educated workforce and for civic leadership. 

In February 2026, Verónica Herrero joined the board of directors, reflecting ongoing governance activity. By engaging with colleges and policy stakeholders, Excelencia seeks to advance practices that improve outcomes for Latino students across higher education.
