The EPC is a financial services organization based in Brussels, in the Brussels-Capital Region. It develops and manages pan-European payment schemes and engages with European regulators and stakeholders to shape policy and guidance. Its primary task is to manage SEPA schemes such as SEPA Credit Transfer and SEPA Direct Debit, while coordinating related services in dialogue with stakeholders. The EPC serves payment service users and other industry participants, facilitating harmonized cross-border payments and addressing payment security and convenience within the Eurozone. Its scope covers cards and mobile payments, including person-to-person transfers, in addition to broader payment security and cash considerations. In 2025, the EPC launched the SEPA Request-to-Pay scheme and published updated versions of its 2025 payment scheme rulebooks.
