We are the only safety net clinic providing free urgent care in Washington County. The Essential Health Clinic was founded in 2001 by a consortium of hospital systems and community partners to alleviate the strain on hospital Emergency Rooms and provide accessible urgent care to populations in need. In 2008, the Essential Health Clinic became an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We have since grown to two clinics, three clinic nights per week, six staff members, dozens of institutional supporters and over 200 active volunteers.
