ENTSOG is a Brussels-based European body that coordinates Europe's gas Transmission System Operators to strengthen cross-border cooperation and support a secure, efficient, and integrated energy system in line with EU energy and climate goals. Its traditional remit included developing network codes and market operation guidelines, producing the Ten-Year Network Development Plan, and providing regular information on gas supply and demand to the market, alongside common tools to ensure network security and reliability. Under Regulation (EU) 2024/1789, its activities now encompass renewable gas, natural gas, and hydrogen markets within the EU framework, with duties to monitor code implementations, assess market effects, and provide data that improve interoperability and transparency. ENTSOG contributes to joint scenario work with ENTSO-E, participates in the TYNDP process, and supports security-of-supply coordination through the ReCo System for Gas and engagement with the Gas Coordination Group. Based in Brussels, it serves European gas TSOs and market participants, and has pursued recent developments such as launching an online tool with EASEE-gas to validate Edig@s XML 6.1 messages for natural gas and hydrogen market participants.
