Energean Oil & Gas is a London-listed oil and gas exploration and production company operating across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Established in 2007 with roots in Greece, it has grown into the largest independent E&P operator in the East Mediterranean and produced more than 180 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2025. The company has a long operating track record across eight countries and holds around one billion barrels of 2P reserves, with an expected reserves life of about 18 years, including the Karish and Karish North developments which came onstream in 2022 and 2024 respectively. Energean describes itself as a full-cycle E&P operator, managing activities from exploration through decommissioning, with a focus on safe, reliable operations and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and to cut non-routine flaring and methane emissions. A significant share of its 2025 production is underpinned by long-term gas contracts in Israel and Egypt, providing cash-flow visibility through floor pricing and take-or-pay or exclusivity provisions. In 2026 the company expanded through notable partnerships and asset moves, including a joint venture with ExxonMobil and Helleniq Energy to pursue gas exploration in the Ionian Sea.
