KAEC, or King Abdullah Economic City, is a planned investment destination along the Red Sea coast in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, spanning roughly 185 square kilometers north of Jeddah. It is owned and developed by Emaar, The Economic City, and is a publicly listed company on Tadawul with the Public Investment Fund holding a 55.55% stake. The city combines industrial activity, coastal living, and tourism while offering access to more than 250 million consumers and stronger links to markets across Asia, Africa, and Europe. KAEC’s components include King Abdullah Port, an Industrial & Logistics Hub hosting automotive clusters and global companies; the KAEC Special Economic Zone with tax and customs exemptions and 100% foreign ownership; a Central Business District; five integrated coastal neighborhoods; and a Resorts Area. Aligned with Vision 2030 for diversified, sustainable development, KAEC has pursued partnerships and projects such as a May 2026 infrastructure award to Nesma & Partners for work in the Industrial Valley and SEZ.
