Elgin Service Center, Inc. is a small construction company based in Venedocia, Ohio, serving rural projects in Northwest Ohio for more than four decades. Its early work focused on on-farm grain storage and handling equipment, with demand growing for structures to house larger machinery as farms modernized. In the 1970s, to address durability and cost concerns, the firm partnered with an engineering firm to develop a building system that combined steel main framing with wood purlins and girts, giving rise to the K Building. The K Building subsequently evolved into its own business, while Elgin Service Center continued to supply grain storage and handling equipment. The company is a Sukup distributor and carries products from DMC and Hutchinson, with information available at kbuildings.com.
