Electric Girls runs an experiential education program that seeks to build confidence and leadership in STEM among girls. Based in Metairie, Louisiana, it serves girls aged 9-14 by providing hands-on activities guided by older female mentors at the crossroads of arts and technology. The curriculum covers fundamentals in electronics, audio, design, and programming while dedicating time for participants to apply these skills through self-directed, creative projects. With a small team, the organization maintains an open learning environment designed to demystify topics such as programming and electrical engineering. Joan Jungbin Lee has served as Executive Director since fall 2020, reflecting ongoing governance through recent years.
