EL ARCA, Inc., a private non-profit organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities and their families. This is accomplished by providing quality programs in a compassionate and caring environment. EL ARCA is committed to providing comprehensive health care through a system of restorative, medical and support services designed to assist the lives of their clients and their families. EL ARCA was formed in 1965 by a group of parents who were in need of services (unavailable at the time) for their developmentally disabled children. The services organized were recreational in nature, such as outings, dances and summer day camp. In 1969, EL ARCA became incorporated as a 501c3 non-profit organization. As EL ARCA’s clients aged and the LAUSD began enrolling children with disabilities into public schools, EL ARCA’s focus changed from children to adults with developmental disabilities. Today, EL ARCA is honored to provide services for more than 200 families in the Los Angeles community.
