Ecole normale supérieure (ENS) is an established teaching and research institution that operates as part of Université PSL. Based in Paris, in the Latin Quarter of Île-de-France, it provides a research-driven education delivered across 15 departments. The ENS community comprises undergraduate and master's students, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and a substantial cadre of faculty and administrative staff working in its laboratories. Its research spans biology, chemistry, cognitive sciences, computer science, mathematics, physics, geosciences, as well as economics, history, arts and languages, philosophy, the classics, and the social sciences. Alumni include Nobel Prize winners and Fields medalists, and many graduates move into research and teaching, government service, industry, or entrepreneurship. A notable development in its recent history is a collaboration with Fondation Abeona in 2019 to create an invited Chair in AI and Justice.
