In 1993, in the basement of their Bellingham home, David and Bonnie Ebenal re-established the business originally started by David’s father in the mid-1970s. Since then, family-owned Ebenal General has become a leading public and private contractor, with a focus on quality construction and historical preservation. Ebenal Special Projects Inc. and Ebenal Homebuilders, LLC have completed many high-profile public and private projects, including the Squalicum Harbor Coast Guard Station, the Whatcom Museum for History & Art, the restored Waldron Building, Bellingham International Airport and numerous other commercial, residential, educational, mixed-use and non-profit properties. The Ebenal Group’s completed projects total between $40 and $70 million each year and the group is licensed and bonded up to $40 million. Since its reincorporation, the Ebenal Group has expanded to include a full-service team of designer/builders, estimators, project managers, superintendents and field crew.
