East Bay Housing Organizations is a membership nonprofit coalition focused on affordable housing in the East Bay. Based in Oakland, California, it serves Alameda and Contra Costa counties by pursuing preservation, protection, and expansion of affordable housing opportunities through education, advocacy, and coalition-building. The organization draws together more than 400 member organizations and community leaders, including nonprofit housing developers, architects, planners, housing advocates, service providers, fair housing agencies, tenant groups, faith-based organizations, unions, lenders, and local government staff. Founded in 1984, EBHO operates within the civic and social sector and positions itself as a key advocate for affordable housing policies at the local, regional, and state levels. In 2024, EBHO launched an Affordable Housing Month event calendar to organize and publicize activities around housing affordability.
