The Downtown Seattle Association is a mid-sized nonprofit membership organization founded in 1958 with a mission to cultivate a healthy, vibrant downtown for all. It mobilizes support from corporate, nonprofit, and residential members to keep downtown economically competitive, address transportation challenges, and create a safe, clean, and inviting urban experience for workers, residents, and visitors. The association founded the Metropolitan Improvement District, a 300-block business improvement district that funds ambassadors who provide cleaning, safety, concierge, and outreach services throughout downtown. In partnership with city and county agencies, DSA also established Commute Seattle to offer resources for workers and businesses to manage commuting. In 2024, it partnered with Orange Barrel Media to introduce IKE Smart City kiosks as part of downtown initiatives. Based in Seattle, Washington, the organization serves a broad community of members and stakeholders focused on the downtown area.
