Johnson Company in 1988 and expanding to Cinch Connectivity, Cal Amp, and Itron in Waseca, with Dunwoody College of Technology joining in 2002; in 2004 eligibility was opened to individuals and entities located in Anoka, Hennepin and Waseca Counties. 
It functions as a local banking cooperative that historically offered savings and loans, with payroll deductions enabling regular deposits for members. The organization serves a regional population of savers and borrowers across Minneapolis and surrounding Minnesota counties, reflecting its long-standing role as a community-focused financial partner.
