The Denver Area Labor Federation (DALF) serves as the AFL-CIO Central Labor Council for the Denver metropolitan area, representing more than 50,000 union members through its political and organizing work. Founded in 1882 and based in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, it collaborates with local and national labor and community organizations on policies supporting worker rights. DALF works with the Colorado AFL-CIO to implement the New Alliance Program aimed at strengthening unity and solidarity across the labor movement. 

It provides essential support to local unions in organizing drives and contract campaigns and builds networks for labor-community solidarity and progressive policy initiatives with partner groups such as FRESC, 9 to 5, and Colorado Jobs with Justice. It conducts trainings and education programs for metro-area union members on topics including economics, organizer strategy, politics, and labor activism. The federation's political program is recognized nationwide for its innovation and success, and DALF has trained councils in California, Michigan, Canada, and at national union conventions and the AFL-CIO National Labor College.
