Democrats Abroad is the official arm of the Democratic Party for millions of U.S. citizens living outside the United States. Founded in 1964 and based in the United States, it aims to give Americans abroad a democratic voice by mobilizing the overseas vote in support of Democratic candidates. The organization provides a means for eligible citizens abroad to participate in elections, including a nonpartisan online voter registration tool that enables ballot requests and absentee voting from anywhere.

As a State Party recognized by the Democratic National Committee, Democrats Abroad sends delegates to the Democratic National Convention to vote for President and Vice President. With a mid-sized footprint, it coordinates overseas participation in U.S. elections for a diverse expatriate community.
