DDI is a California-based third-party administrator that provides human resources and driver-management services for companies using independent contractors, with a focus on last-mile delivery. Founded in 1996, it runs a proprietary platform that streamlines the process of recruiting, onboarding, and enrolling driver-partners, while also supporting payroll, accounting, and tax administration. The organization offers risk management through compliance and legal expertise and provides insurance products and screening services to help protect client operations.

The company serves multiple industries that rely on independent contractors for last-mile deliveries and counts a network of more than 160,000 driver-partners. In 2022, Walmart acquired DDIwork, signaling a significant extension of the platform into larger retail operations.
