The Delaware County Intermediate Unit is a regional education services agency based in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Established in 1970 by the Pennsylvania State Legislature, it is one of the state's 29 regional educational units tasked with delivering services across seven core areas. The organization serves more than 80,000 school-aged students and over 6,000 educators in the region, with direct instruction reaching more than 15,000 students through its special programs, career and technical education, and other specialized offerings. Through the management of about 60 programs, it provides more than $125 million in services to Delaware County. Operating within the education administration programs sector, DCIU supports a range of needs including special education, technical education, services to nonpublic schools, and technology to district and school partners across the county. In May 2026, DCIU hosted its Legislative Breakfast at the DCIU Education Center in Morton, reflecting ongoing collaboration with school boards, superintendents, and state legislators.
