The DeForest Area School District is a mid-sized public school system in the northeast part of Dane County, Wisconsin, serving about 3,900 students. The majority of students live in the rural-suburban communities of DeForest and Windsor, with the district also serving portions of six other municipalities across a 100-square-mile area, including Hampden, Leeds, Bristol, Burke, Vienna, and parts of Madison. The district operates Eagle Point, Windsor, and Yahara elementary schools for grades K–4, a 5/6 intermediate and 7/8 upper middle program, and DeForest Area High School for grades 9–12; four-year-old kindergarten is offered through partnerships with community agencies.
