Defense Information School (DINFOS) is a DoW school based at Fort Meade, Maryland. It trains professional organizational communicators who support the communication needs of military services, government leaders, and partner nations. Each year, the school educates more than 2,600 military personnel, DoD civilians, international military personnel, and interagency staff across a spectrum of basic, intermediate, and advanced public affairs and visual information courses. The program covers areas such as public affairs, photography, photojournalism, broadcasting, broadcast maintenance, and multimedia, preparing graduates to serve in defense and allied organizations. Founded in 1946, DINFOS has a long-standing role in defense communications training and serves a global network of DoD and allied nations from its Fort Meade location.
