The DC Alliance of Youth Advocates (DCAYA) is a District of Columbia–based coalition that operates in the public policy arena to advance youth well‑being. It brings together more than 150 members, including young people, parents, and service providers, to advocate for policies and procedures that support healthy, productive adulthood for children and adolescents. Founded in 2004 and operating with a small staff, the organization has a longstanding record of pursuing policy outcomes for DC's children and youth. In 2019, DCAYA formed a partnership with the Greater Washington Partnership after a vetting process to bring in a new collaborator. In 2018, the coalition partnered with the National Museum of Women in the Arts to co-present Inocente, and in collaboration with DC Action for Children released the DC Votes for Children and Youth 2018 Election Advocacy Guide, illustrating its role in linking policy work with civic engagement.
