Since its founding in 1971, the organization has protected more than 5,000 acres of forestland, farmland, wetlands, and scenic landscapes within Dartmouth, and it maintains nearly 40 miles of nature trails that are open to the public. As a membership-supported environmental services organization, DNRT serves local residents and visitors who value preserved open spaces and access to outdoor learning. Its work centers on land conservation and stewardship, aiming to extend protection beyond private ownership through partnerships and community engagement.
