Founded in 1923, Crawford Nautical Training is the United States' oldest privately owned maritime training school. Based in Seattle, Washington, it has trained mariners across deep-sea, coastal, and inland waters for Masters, Mates, Pilots, and Engineers for more than 90 years. The instructional team includes Captains John, Andrew, and Thomas Crawford and their father, William P. Crawford, a veteran master who directed Crawford Nautical School's California locations for 20 years and authored navigation texts. Bruce Sherman recently joined as Engineering Instructor. Patsy, the sister of the Crawford brothers, serves as an instructor across disciplines, incorporating sea stories into her teaching.
