The Council for Court Excellence (CCE) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization based in Washington, District of Columbia, dedicated to improving the administration of justice so that civil and criminal systems equitably serve residents. It pursues this aim through research, advocacy for reforms, convening stakeholders, and efforts to deepen public understanding of the justice system. As a small to mid-sized nonprofit with almost four decades of activity, CCE organizes its work around four program areas: Criminal Justice, Civil Justice, Youth Justice, and Justice Education.

CCE has built a track record of public education and reform efforts, including distributing more than 370,000 copies of community education guides about DC court processes and legal tools. Its initiatives have driven changes such as modernizing trial and grand jury systems, reforming administrative adjudication, and expanding protections for victims and children, all guided by research and coalition-building to advance practical improvements in DC's justice system.
