In Biblical times, a foundation’s cornerstone was a most critical aspect of a building’s construction, however, the reason for this may be somewhat unclear. This single piece of material had to be perfectly straight, square, and true because it determined the entire project’s overall shape. A poorly selected cornerstone resulted in an undesirable end product.
