Connections Area Agency on Aging operates within a nationwide network of Area Agencies on Aging that address the needs of adults aged 60 and over in communities across the United States. The network originated in 1973 under the Older Americans Act to support independent living for older adults. In Iowa, Connections AAA is one of six agencies overseen by the Iowa Department on Aging, serving a broad set of counties from offices in Council Bluffs, Creston, and Sioux City. The agency is designated as an Aging and Disability Resource Center under the Iowa Department on Aging and participates in LifeLong Links to help older residents, caregivers, people living with disabilities, and veterans access information and supports to remain independent. Operating in the wellness and fitness services space, it provides services and supports to help its regional population age in place. In June 2025, it participated in the Making Connections Pizza Puzzles and Pints event to raise funds for home-delivered meals.
