Community Family Life Services (CFLS) provides housing, case management, employment counseling, mentoring, and emergency services to women returning home to Washington, DC from a period of incarceration. We believe that each individual has intrinsic value and possessed gifts, and since 1969 we have been working to help each individual that comes through our door to rise above their present challenges and live their best life.

Our mission is to provide women returning home from prison or jail with the tools and supports they need to reconnect with their families and live life to their full-potential.

CFLS has two primary goals: to provide short-term crisis assistance; and to empower women and families to change their lives over the long term.

We achieve this mission through an interconnected web of programs and services including affordable permanent and transitional housing, mentoring for families, employment coaching and placement, case management, family education, and food and clothing distribution.
