Cometa is an Italian nonprofit founded in 2000 that provides daytime and residential foster care and prompt intervention within family-like settings. It supports around 600 minors annually through a daytime center, sports activities, and after-school programs. Based in Como, Lombardy, it operates in the youth-welfare sector and serves as a reference point for organizations working with minors in Italy and parts of Europe. Since 2003, Cometa has run Scuola Oliver Twist and offers four-year vocational training programs for students aged 14 to 18, emphasizing work as a formative educational opportunity. The training targets youths under the DDIF framework and also includes young adults through courses and activities focused on career guidance and job placement. In December 2024, Confalonieri Matite s.r.l. announced a partnership with Puntocometa to support education and training initiatives for children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
