In 2018 Colorado Maker Hub will be spinning off as our own non-profit 501c3 organization from our founding non-profit Making Progress Colorado. Our scope has been reduced to not include Maker Faire Denver, the Rocky Mountain Makerspace Summit or Sparks & Spirits, but our mission has been broadened to connect, communicate and strengthen the maker community across all of Colorado. Our Hub exists to benefit makers, spaces in which makers make, maker organizations, groups and businesses that foster a maker-mindset. Our Mission CONNECT: Increase awareness in Colorado of the existing maker community COMMUNICATE: Communicate, advocate and market the community benefits provided from a maker mindset STRENGTHEN: Strengthen the Colorado maker ecosystem through collaborations, education and partnerships Who Are Makers? Are you a Maker? The curious, the creative, the innovative; for those that share skills, tools, and excitement in what they make; for those that mash ideas and inspiration to find a new way; for those that recycle, upcycle and fix stuff for a better world. As our Hub ramps up we will be growing the list of makers, organizations and groups in our maker community across Colorado. We look forward to a connecting, communicating and strengthening the Colorado maker community! ---- We are currently looking for community members to fill positions on our Board of Directors. Positions will be for a two-year term. Our wishlist for our board would be a broad and diverse representation of our maker community including: government entities, educational institutions, makers, space owners, group organizers, event organizers, program organizers and businesses. Come be an inspiration to connect, communicate and strengthen the maker community in Colorado! If you are interested in serving on the board or want to recommend someone, please contact us at bod@coloradomakerhub.org.
