Our goal is to determine the cause of difficulties with attention, learning, and memory and to recommend an individualized treatment approach using the most current brain-based research. We have been working with children, adolescents, and adults for more than 25 years and have completed more than 3,500 evaluations. People come to CALM with a variety of concerns, including ADHD, learning disabilities, memory impairments, poor academic performance, executive dysfunction, anxiety, depression, and difficulties with social interactions. Since many disorders can resemble or complicate attention, learning, and memory problems, we have a conservative and comprehensive approach to the assessment process. Our evaluations include a thorough clinical history and a battery of tests that examine auditory and visual attention, psychological well being, neurocognitive functioning (for example, IQ and memory), and learning abilities, including academic achievement, reading proficiency, and expressive/receptive language skills. Our treatment approach at CALM involves empowering the individual with broad and comprehensive knowledge of available treatment options. We aim to create a complete treatment plan that can include referrals and recommendations for medications, study and work environments, learning strategies and accommodations, exercise, diet, cognitive re-training, coaching, and counseling.
