The City of Blaine, Minnesota operates as a municipal government serving residents, local businesses, and visitors. Its administrative center is Blaine City Hall, built in 2002, which also houses the Blaine Police Department; the Public Works Department’s headquarters is nearby and was expanded in 2009. Located in Anoka County, north of the Twin Cities, Blaine has ready access to Interstate 35W and Highways 10 and 65, supporting development and daily commuting, and it is recognized as one of Minnesota's fastest-growing cities thanks to new home construction. The city is home to major recreational and retail destinations, including the National Sports Center, the TPC Twin Cities golf facility, and Northtown Mall. In March 2025, City Manager Michelle Wolfe retired, marking a recent leadership transition.
