City High School is a college preparatory program located in Tucson, Arizona, designed as a small, intimate setting to enable personalized instruction for students in grades 9 through 12. The program uses hands-on exploration of real-world issues and project-based learning to make education relevant and to support students' preparation for college success. It operates from a location at 47 E Pennington St and aligns with practices from the Coalition of Essential Schools to foster a personalized learning environment. The student body is drawn from a cross-section of the Tucson community, with enrollment around 190 students annually and a commitment to serving diverse backgrounds. The school was founded in the early 2000s by co-directors Carrie Brennan, Eve Rifkin, and Brett Goble, developed with input from teachers, families, community partners, and an active board, and remains a member of the Coalition of Essential Schools.
