Cities Alliance is a global partnership aimed at reducing urban poverty and promoting the role of cities in sustainable development. It unites more than 20 members and collaborates with cities, local and national governments, and their partners to address rapid urbanisation and leverage its opportunities for all residents. Its work focuses on informality, climate change and resilience, urban migration, and gender equality alongside economic growth; the organization is hosted by UNOPS and based in Brussels, in the Brussels region. In 2025 the organization engaged in international forums and partnerships, including participation in the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review and collaboration with IGAD to co-organize a conference on migration, displacement, and urbanisation. It maintains a mid-sized staffing footprint and coordinates with a broad network of partners to support cities and governments in implementing urban poverty reduction and sustainable development initiatives.
