The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony (CVYS) is a small music organization based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, serving the greater Chippewa Valley. It provides a platform for area youth to develop and showcase their artistry within the symphonic tradition, aiming to enrich both participants' lives and the local cultural landscape. Musicians in seventh through twelfth grade audition for placement, with selections based on playing ability and the need to balance instrument sections. The group comprises about 77 students drawn from local high schools, middle schools, and homeschooled backgrounds. CVYS operates as a local youth-focused music program within the broader field of musicians in the Chippewa Valley. In its recent activities, CVYS advertised PR and Events internships for the 2011-2012 concert season.
