Chicago a cappella is a Chicago-based performing arts ensemble founded in 1993, bringing together a compact group of highly skilled singers to explore a wide range of vocal music. Its season includes concerts in Chicago as well as Evanston, Naperville, Oak Park, and other communities, along with special performances and informal events. It presents a balanced approach to repertoire, spanning diverse genres with consistent emphasis. Beyond performances, the group supports its mission through outreach, education, and development programs, including student outreach programs, workshops, masterclasses, and HerVoice, which mentors emerging women composers. The ensemble has released ten recordings, including Miracle of Miracles on Cedille Records, and has been featured on the nationally broadcast radio series Performance Today more than thirty times, with tours across the United States and Mexico. Based in Chicago, Illinois, the organization operates as a mid-sized ensemble within the performing arts sector.
