ChesedChicago's mission is to help as many people as we can, in as many ways as possible. We’re committed to providing compassionate support to the members of our community with kindness, dignity, and respect. The long-term goal is to empower individuals in need toward self-sufficiency through personalized assistance and a huge range of community resources. Since 1987, ChesedChicago has been committed to helping Jewish families in crisis throughout metropolitan Chicago by providing immediate assistance. Our more than 80 programs and services provide vital assistance to over 7,000 individuals a year. We battle hunger, prevent eviction and homelessness, and help the unemployed and underemployed secure jobs. Our flagship program is our food pantry, which has helped us become one of the largest food distribution centers in northern Cook county. We also offer a wide array of free merchandise to needy families, including clothing and shoes for adults and children, baby supplies, furniture, house wares and medical equipment.
