After a significant development period, CharitySelect was founded by experienced insurance industry executives who share a commitment to the long term social value of philanthropy and charitable giving.   CharitySelect has designed a business structure whereby an individual that chooses to purchase their insurance through an authorized CharitySelect independent insurance agency will be able to direct an initial and ongoing charitable donation to a charity of their choice. CharitySelect’s leaders see the internet and social media as a means to rally positive change for both philanthropy and the insurance industry. 

CharitySelect commenced operations on July 4, 2012 in Connecticut (Massachusetts soon to follow) and aspires to a national footprint offering a broad array of insurance products within seven years.  CharitySelect's structure is one of extremely low overhead, operating over the internet and through social media, with the collective intellect of its employees and aligned business partners as its primary product. CharitySelect has formed special relationships with leading professional insurance agencies that share its values, its mission, and commit their expertise, relationships and infrastructure to the cause.
