Character.org is a nonprofit organization that networks people of all ages to practice and model core ethical values, influencing decisions and behavior. It operates globally and provides resources to support character development, including its 11 Principles Framework for Schools: A Guide to Cultivating a Culture of Character. The organization began in 1993 as the Character Education Partnership and is based in Washington, DC. Its work focuses on schools and other communities, helping educators and leaders cultivate cultures that reflect character in daily practice. The network recognizes and celebrates thousands of individuals and programs advancing character in schools and beyond, while sharing best practices. In early 2022, Character.org redesigned its Covid-19 webpage to provide updated guidance.
