Centralina Regional Council is a public regional planning and coordination organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 1968, it serves nine counties—Anson, Cabarrus, Gaston, Lincoln, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, and Union—and is one of 16 regional councils authorized by the North Carolina General Assembly. The council is governed by a Board of Delegates drawn from its member governments and provides planning, coordination, program management, advocacy, and technical assistance through its departments and affiliates. Its work focuses on addressing regional issues and opportunities and facilitating area-wide planning across the region. It functions as a neutral platform for local governments to collaborate on planning and to pursue holistic solutions that benefit communities of different sizes while strengthening the region's competitive position on the national and international stage. Recent activities include a vanpooling exploration partnership with Commute with Enterprise, and collaborative efforts with Eli Health and ApprenticeshipNC to advance care navigation and workforce development in the Charlotte region.
