Central Texas Medical Center is a 178-bed hospital providing a wide range of healthcare services in San Marcos, Texas and neighboring communities. The hospital was established in 1960, and the present facility opened in 1983. In late 2009, CTMC completed a $35 million expansion and renovation on a 64,000 sq ft Women's Center that includes all private rooms, a Level II nursery and a new cardiac inpatient nursing unit with all private rooms. It also includes an on-site, high-risk delivery suite and a customized cesarean section suite. Our staff of over 700 employees works with over 220 consulting physicians to provide quality services to patients and their families. Additionally, over 100 community members and interns from Texas State University – San Marcos volunteer their services to the hospital. CTMC collaborates with the local schools and university systems to promote higher education and development in the healthcare field.
