Central City Concern is a large nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon, focused on ending homelessness by treating the whole person. Each year, it provides compassionate support to thousands of people seeking to become self-sufficient. Drawing on more than four decades of frontline experience, CCC addresses both the systemic drivers of homelessness and the individual barriers that sustain it, including the shortage of affordable housing, limited access to health care, the lack of living-wage jobs, mental and physical health challenges, substance use, racism, and involvement with the justice system. Its work rests on a belief in the restorative power of human connection and dignity, with staff, donors, partners, and volunteers guiding a person-centered approach. Its services are delivered to people experiencing homelessness and the related obstacles to stability, emphasizing help with housing, health care, and opportunities for self-sufficiency. In 2024, CCC expanded its reach by launching two mobile health clinics to bring care directly to individuals without fixed addresses.
