Center for Wildlife is an environmental services organization based in Cape Neddick, Maine, focused on safeguarding wildlife and their habitats through medical care for injured and orphaned animals and environmental education for the public. Each year the clinic treats about 1,900 animals with the aim of releasing them back into the wild, while non-releasable animals and wildlife ambassadors, together with Project Wild educators, reach thousands of people through educational programs and community outreach. The center operates a Wildlife Assistance Hotline that provides guidance to a large public audience on how to coexist with local wildlife, supporting conservation and wellbeing beyond its clinic work. With a small core staff and many volunteers, it offers internships and seasonal apprenticeship opportunities in wildlife-related fields and engages in partnerships and activities that extend its environmental education and wildlife conservation mission. The organization is independent and relies on donations, grants, sponsorships, and program fees for its funding, and it has expanded its facilities and programs in recent years, including new ambassador species and collaborations with local institutions.
