Center for Justice Innovation is a New York-based non-profit organization focused on community justice, safety, and racial justice. Founded in 1996, it has partnered with community members, courts, and the people most affected to build stronger, healthier, and more just communities. The organization draws on decades of experience operating in courts and communities, along with research and practitioner expertise. It supports justice reform across the United States through collaborative, field-informed practice. Its work engages communities, courts, and other justice-system stakeholders to address safety, equity, and accountability in local contexts. In December 2023, it announced a collaborative initiative with the Alabama Appleseed Center for Law & Justice, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Applied Research Services to enrich the quality of justice in communities facing fines and fees.
