That has been CAPPA's mission since 1998, and it starts with one question every future perinatal professional asks: Where do I get trained?

CAPPA trains and certifies professionals across five pathways: Certified Labor Doula (CLD), Certified Postpartum Doula (CPD), Certified Childbirth Educator (CCCE), Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), and Certified Infant & Family Educator (CIFE).

Our training is built on compassionate, nonjudgmental, and empathetic care. We prepare professionals to empower families with knowledge, confidence, and support so every birthing person can make informed decisions and have their rights upheld throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

CAPPA takes a community-first approach because professionals who are supported build sustainable, successful careers, and successful professionals serve more families. Members get access to weekly career coaching office hours, monthly community townhalls, the CAPPA Care Directory connecting them directly with families, and a professional network of peers and mentors invested in each other's growth.
