Cafe Habana is a global restaurant group serving delicious Mexican cuisine. In 1997 Sean Meenan built Cafe Habana in an old-school Dominican diner that had been holding it down on the corner of Elizabeth and Prince, long before NoLiTA was born. Inspired by a storied Mexico City lunch joint, where legend has it Che and Fidel plotted the Cuban revolution, Cafe Habana is a mix of straight-shooter authenticity and nonchalant cool. Thirteen years later, its a veritable institution, replete with celebrity sightings, reviewer accolades, and dedicated aficionados. It's the kind of place where old-time neighborhood denizens pull rank on beautiful hipsters for the best tables, and that's not up for negotiation on anyone's watch. This blend of peaceful co-existence between neighbors and celebrities, old school and new, inspired Meenan to create Habana Oupost, New York's first solar powered restaurant and marketplace in 2005. Habana Outpost is a neighborhood joint where locals, families and trendy Brooklynites can sit side by side enjoying the same corn, tacos, and margaritas that made Cafe Habana so beloved. In 2010 the Cafe Habana Malibu location opened right across from the beach on the Pacific Coast Highway. Following Malibu's success, in 2013 The Cafe Habana Dubai location opened making Cafe Habana a national restaurant chain!
