Cabrini Immigrant Services-New York City, or CIS-NYC, provides essential services to immigrants in the spirit of Mother Cabrini, patron saint of immigrants and founder of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We are committed to empowering immigrants, their families, and their communities through education, access to essential services, civic participation, and community building. We strive to work together with the immigrant community to create a more inclusive society by fostering justice, dignity, and respect. CIS-NYC’s multi-cultural and multi-lingual staff, interns, and volunteers provide essential services, including: immigration legal services; culturally immersive recreational activities for low-income families; case management and short-term crisis intervention counseling; a food pantry; information and referrals to community resources; engagement in community organizing and advocacy; and monthly Know Your Rights informational workshops.
