Buxton School is an independent, all-gender boarding and day school serving grades 9–12 in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Founded in 1928, we've spent nearly a century on the vanguard of progressive education. Learning at Buxton is hands-on and real. Students don't just sit with ideas - they build, make, grow, and question. Small classes (a 4:1 student-teacher ratio), a deeply committed faculty, and a tight-knit community ensure that no one gets lost here. Everyone is known, challenged, and trusted, with the freedom to follow their instincts, guided by support. Academics, the arts, and community life aren't separate tracks; they're intentionally woven together. Students shape their education alongside the people who teach them. Buxton graduates go on to four-year colleges, but more than that, they go on knowing how to think critically, connect authentically, and are ready to engage meaningfully with the world.
